Delete specific data without deleting your account

You don't have to delete your entire account to remove specific data.

Delete individual memories

Vela stores memories about you (your goals, emotions, preferences, etc.) to make conversations feel real. You can delete any of them at any time:

1. Open Vela and sign in
2. Tap the "Remembers X things about you" badge in the chat
3. Find the memory you want to delete
4. Tap the trash icon next to it
5. Confirm

The memory is removed immediately and permanently.

Delete other specific data

For any other data you want removed (a specific conversation, a generated image, voice messages, etc.), email us at support@meetvela.app with the details. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

Your account remains active throughout these partial deletions.

How to delete your account

The easiest way is directly from the app:

1. Open Vela on your device or visit meetvela.app
2. Sign in to your account
3. Go to Settings
4. Tap "Delete my account"
5. Confirm the deletion

Your account and associated data will be permanently deleted immediately.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your profile information (email, name, date of birth)
• All your conversation messages
• All memories Vela has stored about you
• Your selected companions and preferences
• Audio messages and generated images linked to your account
• Push notification endpoints
• Your subscription account (if any)

What may be retained

For legal and security reasons, we may retain limited data for a short period:

• Anonymized error logs (Sentry, no personal data, max 30 days)
• Anonymized analytics (Plausible, no personal data)
• Payment records (retained as required by tax/accounting law, max 7 years)
• Records related to fraud prevention or abuse, if applicable

These records do not include your conversations, memories, or personal profile data.

Deletion timeline

• Profile, messages, memories: deleted immediately
• Backup database snapshots: removed within 30 days
• Third-party services (Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Leonardo): we instruct deletion immediately; they complete within their respective policies

If you cannot sign in

If you cannot access your account but want to request deletion, email us at support@meetvela.app.

Include the email address you used to register. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.
